Fall in to Fun! October Events - Grand Strand

As the leaves begin to change and the crisp autumn breeze fills the air, the fall season brings a delightful array of events and festivities. We’ve broken down some of the most popular events in our area so you don’t miss a thing! Whether it be food festivals, art fairs or spooktacular Trick-or-Treating, you’re sure to find something for everyone. Look for Halloween events specially marked in orange!

Loris

Market in the Yard

When: October 7, 2023; 9:00 am-2:00 pm

Where: Downtown Loris, 4128 Main Street

About: Market in the Yard will include vendors, flowers, farmers and more. Come check them out!

Loris Bog-Off Festival

When: October 21, 2023; 9:00am

Where: Downtown Loris, Main Street

About: The festival is packed with fun with 2 stages of live entertainment and a large children’s area, over 200 vendors, food, fun for all ages, and of course lots of Chicken Bog for the cooking content. End the day with fireworks and a free concert.

Little River

Little River ShrimpFest

When: October 14-15, 2023; 9:00 am-5:00 pm

Where: Historic Little River Waterfront

About: The 18th Annual Little River ShrimpFest will have two stages of live music, stilt walkers, balloon artists, and more than 100 vendors including arts & crafts, business expos, and community organizations. And of course, shrimp and local fresh seafood will be served by local waterfront restaurants along with festival food favorites.

Howl-O-Scream

When: October 28, 2023; 5:00-8:00 pm

Where: North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex

About: Activities will include hayrides, marshmallow roasting, games, inflatables, trick-or-treating and much more.

North Myrtle Beach

Oktoberfest!

When: October 7, 2023; 12:00pm

Where: Barefoot Landing

About: OktoberFest! hosts German themed food and drink specials at participating restaurants and treat stops throughout Barefoot Landing. By purchasing a $10 wristband you will be entitled to 10% off food and beverages (excluding alcohol) at many restaurants from 12:00-8:00 pm. Some restaurants will be hosting live music and contests. Bring your furry friends for the Every Dog’s A Weiner Dog contest!

Symphony Under the Stars

When: October 7, 2023; 7:00 pm

Where: North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex Amphitheater

About: Come enjoy an evening of symphonic favorites, classical and popular, with the Long Bay Symphony. Seating will be provided. Tickets can be purchased online for $25 per person.

BooFest! At Barefoot Landing

When: October 28, 2023; 11:00 am

Where: Barefoot Landing

About: Kids and pets can dress up in their favorite costumes for a chance to win prizes and enjoy a day full of family fun! Registration starts at 11:00 am and the contest starts at 12:00.

Trick or Treat at Barefoot Landing

When: October 31, 2023; 5:00-7:00 pm

Where: Barefoot Landing

About: Bring the kids in their favorite Halloween costume for Trick-or-Treat through Barefoot Landing.

Conway

Conway Ghost Walk

When: October 18-21, 2023; 6:00pm

Where: Downtown Conway, 428 Main Street

About: Professional storytellers weave tales of lowcountry haunts through the shadowy streets of Downtown Conway. This year the Conway Ghost Walk travels beneath the stately oaks of the Historic Conway Residential District and along the way storytellers share tales that are always spooky, sometimes humorous and guaranteed to become part of your family’s Halloween tradition. Reservations are required for the tour.

CCU Homecoming Parade/Conway Halloween Golf Cart Parade

When: October 28, 2023; 9:00 am & 11:00 am

Where: Downtown Conway

About: Conway Downtown Alive is excited to announce a new twist on one of their favorite Downtown events! The date for the CCU Homecoming Parade has aligned with Halloween for one "Monster" parade. The CCU parade will begin at 9:00 am and will be followed by the Halloween parade at 11:00 am. The parades will begin at the Conway Public Safety Building on 9th Avenue, then continue down 9th Avenue to Laurel Street and end at Marina Drive & Elm Street.

Halloween Helicopter Candy Drop at Thompson Farm!

When: October 28, 2023; 10:00 am-6:00 pm

Where: Thompson Farm

About: Looking for something different this Halloween? Join Thompson Farm for all day fun, followed by the helicopter candy drop, happening promptly at 4:00 pm.

Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach’s 40th Anniversary National Night Out Celebration

When: October 3, 2023; 5:00-7:30 pm

Where: Myrtle Beach Convention Center

About: Make plans to bring family, friends and neighbors for food and activities for all ages. Admission, parking and food/drinks are free! Myrtle Beach’s Public Works, Police and Fire Departments will also be on hand with vehicles, K9s and service trucks.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week – Fall Rally

When: October 2-8, 2023

Where: Various areas on the Grand Strand

About: Get ready to ride this week as Myrtle Beach Bike Week kicks off.

Cruisin’ the Beach Car Show

When: October 5-7, 2023

Where: Broadway at the Beach

About: Show hours are 8:00 am-6:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, and 8:00 am-4:00 pm on Saturday.

Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild’s Art in the Park

When: October 7-8, 2023; 10:00 am

Where: Valor Memorial Garden at The Market Common

About: This event is free-to-attend and features local and traveling artists. Artwork for sale includes paintings, woodworking, photography, jewelry, fabric, glass, metal, pottery, stone and more.

Myrtle Beach Fire Department’s Public Safety Day

When: October 7, 2023; 10:00 am-2:00 pm

Where: Myrtle Beach Convention Center

About: This free event brings fire and police departments from Horry & Georgetown Counties to demonstrate their capabilities. Everyone’s invited to attend, enjoy food and have fun! This is an opportunity to meet the men and women who serve to community daily.

Fall Taste of The Market Common

When: October 7, 2023; 11:30 am-3:30 pm

Where: The Market Common

About: Taste the finest offerings from renowned restaurants and eateries featuring a diverse array of cuisines, from delectable appetizers to mouthwatering main courses and irresistible desserts. Tickets are $1 per sample and can be purchased the day of the event. In between bites to eat, guests can explore fantastic side walk sales and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of The Market Common.

Art in Common

When: October 9-10, 2023; 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Where: Valor Park in The Market Common

About: The Seacoast Artists Guild hosts the annual Art in Common Show. The event showcases local artists and art is available for purchase.

St. Andrew’s Taste of the Town

When: October 10, 2023; 4:00-10:00 pm

Where: Myrtle Beach Convention Center

About: This annual event features many of the Grand Strand’s Finest Restaurants, culinary awards, live entertainment, silent auction, and is poised as one of the most highly anticipated food festivals. It is also the primary annual fundraiser for St. Andrew Catholic School. Tickets can be bought in advance or at the door.

2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival

When: October 14, 2023; 9:00 am-2:00 pm

Where: Socastee Bi-Lo Shopping Center

About: Live DJ, bounce houses, local Hispanic vendors, food trucks and much more. Come out and support the local Hispanic community and learn a little more about their culture. Everyone is welcome!

Myrtle Beach Jeep Jam

When: October 20-22, 2023

Where: Across from Myrtle Beach Convention Center

About: A 3-day festival featuring an epic off-road Obstacle Course, Car Show, Beach Crawls, Raffles, Nightly Parties around the city, and over 90 vendors!

Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival

When: October 20-22, 2023; 4:00 pm

Where: Charlie’s Place

About: Myrtle Beach welcomes the 7th Annual Jazz Music Festival. This is a family-friendly event with food vendors on site. Bring your lawn chairs. General admission is free!

Klig’s Kites Annual Kite Festival

When: October 21-22, 2023; 11:00 am

Where: On the Beach between 8th & 9th Avenue North

About: Join Klig’s Kites for their 6th annual kite festival. Everyone is welcomed to have fun with kites!

PRST’s Third Annual Fall Fling

When: October 27, 2023; 5:00pm

Where: General Robert H. Reed Recreation Center

About: Everyone is invited to this family-friendly and free event to celebrate the fall season and Halloween with games, candy, music, face painting and an outdoor screening of the move, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”.

3rd Annual Myrtle Beach Fall Jerk Festival

When: October 29, 2023; 12:00-10:00 pm

Where: Broadway Street

About: Food trucks, retail vendors, live entertainment for the family and more will be showcased down the street for a new and unique community experience.

Trick or Treat at Broadway at the Beach

When: October 31, 2023; 4:30-6:30 pm

Surfside Beach

Surfside Beach Family Festival

When: October 7, 2023; 10:00 am-4:00 pm

Where: Town of Surfside Beach, Surfside Drive

About: This event brings thousands of people for good food, good fun and family-friendly activities. This event will feature: arts & craft vendors, festival food favorites, activities for children and two stages of live entertainment.

Surfside Beach Halloween Golf Cart Parade

When: October 28, 2023; 3:00-5:00 pm

Where: Surfside Beach, Ocean Blvd

About: Join the Town of Surfside for their annual Halloween golf cart parade.

Murrells Inlet

Harvest Home Festival at Brookgreen

When: October 7-8, 2023; 9:30 am-4:30 pm

Where: Brookgreen Gardens

About: Join Brookgreen Gardens for their Annual Harvest Home Festival. The pumpkin patch and scarecrow building are always a family favorite, and younger children will enjoy their hay maze! Food vendors and live entertainment will also be available. Garden admission is required and there are some associated costs with activities.

Children’s Imagination Walk

When: October 28, 2023; 10:00 am-4:00 pm

Where: Brookgreen Gardens

About: Wear your favorite costume and make tracks through the gardens for a fun-filled Imagination Walk. Pick up your scavenger hunt map and gather treats through the garden. There will also be fun games and a few fun tricks along the way. This annual event is catered for children 3-12 years old, but all ages are welcome! Garden admission required, event is included.

Halloween on the Marshwalk

When: October 31, 2023; 5:00 pm

Where: Murrells Inlet Marshwalk

About: All eight of the MarshWalk restaurants will have food and drink specials. Festivities begin at 5 pm with Trick-or-Treating along the MarshWalk for kids. The annual Children's Costume Contest is at 6 pm.

Georgetown

Georgetown Wooden Boat Show

When: October 21-22, 2023; 11:00 am

Where: Georgetown Waterfront Broad & Front Street

About: The 34th Annual Wooden Boat Show features more than 100 classic wooden boats displayed on land and water, boatbuilding, a corrugated boat race, children's model boat building, a youth sailing regatta, knot tying, maritime arts and crafts, and food.
