In celebration of National Hammock Day, read on for some suggestions that could help turn your yard into your favorite space at home.

Hammocks can be appreciated by all ages. They’re also easy to set up—Just suspend it between two trees with straps, ropes, or hooks. If you don’t have trees, all you need is a hammock stand! Then just grab a cool drink, kick your feet up, and relax!
Pergola
It’s no secret that southern summers get HOT, but some nice shade really can make all the difference. A pergola is an elegant way to help you beat the heat. Add in some outdoor furniture, a rug, and even curtains and you’ll never want to leave!
Fire pit
A fire pit placed in the right spot can create a cozy atmosphere and warm you up as temps cool into the evening. And does anything say “summer nights” quite like smores around the fire? Grab some friends and marshmallows and you’ve got a perfect night in.
Outdoor Dining
Can we call it an oasis if there’s nowhere to eat? Create a comfy place to enjoy meals with an outdoor dining set or even an outdoor kitchen. We live in a climate that allows outdoor dining almost all year long, so why not take advantage? Get all set up, and then invite some friends over to show off your BBQ skills.

A verdant touch can be just the thing your yard needs. Gardening can be a meditative experience, and many take great pride in making things grow.
