I was born and raised in the Czech Republic and have lived in many countries all over Europe. I studied the Russian, German, and French languages, as well as the fundamentals of Latin. I never thought the English language was going to be in my future until I met my Marine husband while vacationing in Japan. We have been happily married for over twenty years and we have three children whose ages are 12, 16 and 17. In 2016, I became a legally naturalized American citizen! I worked hard to acclimate myself to the American lifestyle and culture, and have learned the English language on my own without any formal education.
I am a firm believer in giving back. I donate to various charities every year.
In my free time, I love to garden which is a passion that I acquired from my grandmother. I enjoy traveling, doing fun activities with my children, spending time with my husband and our overly loveable yellow labs, Mr. Henry – our pug and four grumpy cats. It is a lot of fun to watch your hard work grow and bloom throughout the year! Much like Real Estate!

Irena really went above and beyond helping me sell my house. I hadn't lived in the house or area for over 15 years and reached out to an old acquaintance for a recommendation and got Irena's name. My longtime tenant had left my house very poorly maintained for which Irena expertly quarterbacked a renovation using her network of contacts to keep costs manageable and ensure the work was done quickly in order to get the house on market. When my husband and I got ready to sell our home in Hampstead, we had heard of some realtors but didn't have one. Irena was a referral for us through Coldwell Banker. We are moving to Columbia SC and had recently purchased a transitional home there. Our realtor in Columbia referred us to Irena and we felt like we hit the jackpot! During the first 15 minutes of our meeting, we knew she was the right person to sell our home. We clicked. Big time. During the initial meeting, we told her all the remaining improvements we planned to do before our home was listed. For us, the biggest value was her input on exactly how to stage the home, paint colors to use, mirrors for the bathroom, etc. Down to the very details! We could immediately tell that she knew what she was talking about and we took ALL of her advice. As we worked the next month to get the home ready to list, she was there for any questions we had as we were selecting staging items. I never dreamed that a realtor, for no extra fees, would be that helpful and knowledgeable about how to stage her home to maximize the price and decrease the time on the market. Together, we created what looked like a model home, but with our old furniture. In all this time of getting the house ready to sell, we never dealt with anyone but Irena. Many realtors pass you off to a team member after they land the listing. Not Irena. If you pick her, you get her! Once our listing went live and we started getting offers, Irena showed her prowess in negotiating! Wow! We ended up selling for over the asking price and couldn't be happier with Irena! If you don't use Irena to sell your house, you will leave money on the table. And please, take her advice about staging because she knows how to sell quickly and at top dollar! I cannot recommend Irena enough! Just call her!

My husband and I have worked with Irena twice. She sold our first home, and when we were in a bind, and needing to buy again she was there to help us, immediately. In this economy it has proven to be very difficult for buyers to compete and buy in this market. We called Irena one afternoon, the next day we had a few houses to view. Ms. Irena is professional, prompt and extremely helpful to work with. She has a thorough knowledge of the Jacksonville and surrounding areas in NC. She was meticulous and thorough with her expectations of the home prior to having it on the market and as a result, we had 5 offers within 24 hours of listing and were under contract the following day. She believes that homes do not sell for two primary reasons: they are either overpriced or marketed poorly. Based off of extensive research, she gave us a realistic expectation of the value of our home and took the time to explain why, based off of comparable homes in the area. She then paid to have the floor plan remeasured, and had professional pictures taken of our home which looked incredible. The efforts put in paid off, as stated above. If you are comfortable with having your home on the market for months to years with dilapidated looking pictures and a poor home description on the listing, then I would not recommend Ms. Irena. If, however, you would like an honest professional assessment of your home and the ability to sell it quickly, and are willing to put in a little effort up front in preparation with her, then I strongly recommend her, and have already recommended her to multiple friends.

If you’re looking for someone polite, professional and at the top of their game, Irena Kohler is hands down the Agent that should represent you. I rarely write reviews. Everything these days is described as ‘amazing' or 'wonderful' and that really blurs the lines between what is truly outstanding, simply the norm, or just average. Almost to the point that many people rarely bother to read them anymore. However, our experience over the last six months compelled me to write, for no other reason than it is such a rare occasion that one receives the kind of service, support, and professionalism that Irena provided us across the extended Covid-19 period. From our initial meet and greet, to the knowledge and advice we received throughout our entire buying AND selling process, the service was phenomenal. We needed a realtor that had experience assisting clients that were not located where the property was being purchased. After looking at reviews online for Irena, we were confident that she would be the best person to handle our out-of-state (NJ to NC) new construction real estate transaction. Irena was extremely knowledgeable about this type of process and served as our eyes and ears on many occasions when we could not travel to NC. She updated us monthly with pictures of our build and served as our advocate when situations arose with the builder. Irena proposed utilizing a private home inspector (even though it was for new construction) and that suggestion proved to be a valuable one. I could not be more impressed and satisfied with Irena's performance while selling my house. My house was located in Jacksonville NC. I placed my house for sale for over 20 months with three different agents and none on them delivered their promises to sell the house. After I rented the house for a few months, I decided to sell again...this time with Irena. After I got the house ready, Florence hurricane damaged the house and I needed a lot of repairs. Irena went out of her way to help me out with contractors so I can have the house ready to sell. Without her help, there was no way I could get the house ready to sell within reasonable time. After receiving orders to MCB Camp Lejeune and not knowing if I was going to be able to get in to base housing, I contacted Irena to show me available homes in my price range. Irena knew that we wanted to be in base housing and that was our priority but still went out of her way to help us. During this timeframe when I was in Japan she never forgot about me, always, sending new listings and new when I was on the way home she had a number of house s that met my criteria. She is ALWAYS working hard for your best interest, and was available for me whenever I needed her help 24/7. If you need an agent that will go the extra mile you need Irena Kohler. We worked with several agents over two years and none of them were as attentive to our needs as Irena. She's diligent, friendly and sweet. We worked with her for several months. She did a lot of researching and time taking tasks to help us get the right place at the right price. Irena was such a joy to work with! She assisted me with finding just the right home for my family. She was very attentive and determined to make me happy. I felt like I was her only client--she made me feel very special. She knew a lot about the Jacksonville area, and successfully guided me the process of renting a home. Many realtors aren't as willing to help clients find rentals, they would prefer to work only with buyers. Irene never made a difference, she prioritized my requests, and made me feel like I was her only client. She is knowledgeable and very consistent. I highly recommend Irena for all your rental/buying needs! I cannot say enough about her excellent customer service.

We have both sold a house and bought one with Irena' expert assistance. Our market is the worst I have ever experienced in 11 transactions over 21 years. It is difficult for BOTH buying and selling do to different factors, typically taking about 11-13 months to sell a home, and typically under appraised value. Irena mowed down problem after problem be it process, legal, or buyer related with dogged persistence and creative thinking and sold our home at a profit after less then 6 months! She gladly took on our search for a 100 year old home in a market with very few to offer, and we successfully landed our dream home on favorable terms. I cannot recommend highly enough!

If there was a better rating than 5 stars, Irena would get it. She was absolutely amazing in guiding me to rent out my home. She was always quick to respond to all of our nervous emails, texts and voice mails. I was nervous since it was my first time renting out my home, But Irena made us feel very confident that going through Coldwell Bank Seacoast Advantage was a good move, and I could not thank her enough. The entire process was super smooth, thanks to Irena. We are absolutely positive that we would not have had a better experience elsewhere. Now for those of you that want to be told only what you want to hear, go elsewhere, because Irena is strictly business and will be nothing but professionally blunt with you, which is in your best interest, she does not beat around the bush.
